The relevance of medical photography
As they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words” and this is incredibly true with your marketing. Using medical photography on your website and marketing gives you, your practice and your staff the unique opportunity to meet new patients in their personal environment, on their home computer or smartphone.
Your website and marketing is a reflection or extension of your physical business. It represents you, your team, and your mission. Your marketing should give your potential patients/clients the same feelings and emotions that they would have walking into your practice.
Potential patients/clients want to see who you are and what your office looks like before they book an appointment. Your brand, your philosophy, and your clinical style need to be conveyed in the first few seconds that a visitor spends on your website. Your website development team will take care of portraying your philosophy and branding, and to make this happen, you need to have real photographs.
A study carried out by the Neilson Group showed that users pay ‘close attention to photographs and other images that contain relevant information’. Users will, however, ignore certain images, particularly stock photographs, that are merely included as decorative artwork.
What you can do:
- Make sure images you use aid or support textual
- Avoid overuse of stock photos and meaningless
Every website is unique and should have plenty of space to accommodate personal pictures. Take some photographs of your office and your staff or, better still, hire a professional photographer to help you showcase your practice professionally.
